Dream Letters – Handmade DREAMS Letter Dangle Earrings

When a word becomes jewellery, it finds an entirely new way to express itself. The Dream Letters earrings transform the word DREAMS into a bold pair of handmade statement earrings, where typography becomes the central design element. With their elongated silhouette, vibrant colour combination and individually connected letters, these earrings bring together contemporary graphic design, playful movement and expressive jewellery aesthetics.

Inspired by the Dreams collection by Petit Boutique, Dream Letters was designed and handcrafted by Funk Da Queen as part of the Petit Boutique x Funk Da Queen collaboration. The word that defines the collection is transformed into a wearable design, celebrating the connection between imagination, personal expression and fashion. Petit Boutique’s playful creative identity meets Funk Da Queen’s distinctive love for bold colours, unexpected materials and unconventional statement pieces.

Each earring features six individual letters arranged vertically to spell DREAMS. The letters are crafted from layered plexiglass, combining light blue front surfaces with vibrant red glitter backing. This contrast between cool blue and warm, shimmering red adds depth to the design, while the glitter finish creates eye-catching reflections along the edges of the letters.

The typography features playful, slightly irregular shapes reminiscent of pop lettering and graphic influences from the 1990s and early 2000s. Each letter has its own position and angle, giving the composition a spontaneous and dynamic appearance. Small metal connecting rings link the individual elements, allowing them to move independently and creating natural motion as the earrings are worn.

The vertical arrangement forms a striking elongated silhouette, while the red glitter backing remains visible around the light blue letters, adding colour and dimension. The repeated word on both earrings creates a visually balanced pair, despite the intentionally playful positioning of the individual characters. The overall effect references wearable typography, where language and design become part of the same fashion object.

Every pair is handcrafted in the Funk Da Queen studio, where each letter is precisely cut, layered and carefully assembled by hand. Special attention is given to the small connecting points and the correct order of the letters, ensuring that the word remains clearly readable while maintaining the characteristic movement of the design.
