The Retro Camera Necklace transforms the nostalgic charm of vintage photography into a statement necklace, bringing together a textured gold-tone chain, playful miniature charms and a colourful handmade plexiglass camera. Inspired by the idea of collecting meaningful moments, this design feels like a personal collection of little treasures, each one representing a different story, destination or unforgettable experience.

Inspired by the Dreams collection by Petit Boutique, Retro Camera Necklace was created by Funk Da Queen as part of the Petit Boutique x Funk Da Queen collaboration. The imaginative spirit of the collection meets the nostalgic appeal of vintage accessories, while Funk Da Queen introduces its distinctive pop aesthetic through unexpected colours, layered materials and original handmade details. The result is a necklace that combines the sentimental character of traditional charm jewellery with a contemporary, expressive approach to design.

At the centre of the necklace sits a miniature retro camera, handcrafted from multiple layers of plexiglass. The vibrant pink body is combined with turquoise accents, a circular grey lens and tiny golden stars, creating a playful contrast between the familiar silhouette of a vintage camera and the bold colours of modern pop jewellery. Its dimensional construction highlights the individual details, while the glossy surfaces catch the light and add depth to the design.Surrounding the camera is a carefully arranged collection of decorative charms. A golden compass evokes travel, exploration and the excitement of discovering new places, while a small red charm adds a nostalgic touch of colour. On the opposite side, a polished golden heart introduces a romantic element, complemented by a dark circular decorative stone that creates contrast with the warmer metallic tones. Together, these elements resemble miniature souvenirs gathered from different adventures, giving the necklace its distinctive storytelling character.The textured gold-tone chain plays an equally important role in the design. Featuring substantial, interconnected oval links with an irregular finish, it introduces a vintage-inspired aesthetic that complements the variety of decorative charms. The camera takes centre stage, while the surrounding elements create an interesting arrangement of different shapes, textures and proportions. Their placement allows the individual charms to move naturally, adding visual interest to the necklace as it is worn.The plexiglass camera is individually handcrafted in the Funk Da Queen studio, where each component is precisely cut, carefully layered and assembled by hand. The necklace is then completed by arranging and attaching the decorative charms to the chain, creating a distinctive accessory that brings together original handmade design and the charm of vintage-inspired jewellery.
